The most important part of natural sunlight that we aim to remove with all our sunglasses is Ultra Violet. To the eye, ultra violet (UV) radiation is a dangerous component inflicting cumulative damage.
Protection from UV is available in the form of a UV400 filter. Most sunglass ranges have this as standard. Normal prescription spectacles can have this added as an extra filter that leaves only a very pale yellowish brown tinge to the lens.
