NEW WEARER

So you’re considering contact lenses ?
So many questions to ask !

At Noakes Habermehl & Kerr we offer a complete and
concise contact lens fitting service

Our practitioners are all fully qualified to advise on and fit all types of contact lens. We fully understand that taking the initial steps can seem daunting and that’s why we take the time to listen and understand your requirements beforehand.

Initial Advice

Your first step is to have an up-to-date eye examination. This provides us with valuable information about your prescription, lifestyle and ocular health. We can then advise you on your likely suitability, lens options and pricing.

First Appointment

The initial fitting appointment can be with either the optometrist or specialist contact lens practitioner. During this appointment a more detailed analysis is made of your suitability along with a series of tests and assessments to determine the lens type and fit required.

Second Appointment

Following your initial appointment, diagnostic or trial lenses are ordered. This appointment involves trying in the lenses and various assessments and checks to ensure that you and the practitioner are happy. If theses initial lenses are successful you will be given tuition and additional advice on insertion, removal and care of the lenses. You may be able to take these initial lenses away with you for a period of evaluation from a few days to a week or two.
Remember, during this time you can always return if you have any problems.

Final Appointment

This final appointment is used to confirm that your new lenses are working and providing you with the comfort and vision that we expect.
We can then discuss the various options, schemes and methods of funding your contact lenses. We will always be flexible in this respect, so please don’t hesitate to ask if you prefer an alternative.

Fitting Fee

To provide the above complete program from start to finish, irrespective of the number of appointments or trial lenses required, we charge a fitting fee. The fee depends on the type of lens you eventually wear. Our staff will be pleased to advise you further about our professional fees.
